Job Purpose

Ideal candidates will work in a team environment with suppliers and EnerSys to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and continuous improvements. Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that purchased products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to local and corporate Quality Management System. This Position report to Supplier Quality Manager, Based On-site in Corporate headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Supplier quality audits using IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3 methodology.

  • Lead the risk assessment and process capabilities for purchased items Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMFA) application, Lean-Six Sigma and Measurement System Analysis.

  • Undertaking special projects as required by Supporting and leading process improvement activities at supplier(s).

  • Execute product qualification and validation for purchased items with experience developing control plans and executing PPAPs.

  • Lead /conduct supplier and product approval, requires knowledge and experience of advanced product quality planning.

  • Lead/participate in problem analysis and resolution by applying problem solving techniques, such as 8D, A3, 5-Why etc.

  • Guide, Motivate and Monitor suppliers by analyzing the supplier performance data and drive the Quality improvement plans.

  • Staying current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advising others of any impact.

  • Undertaking personal continuous training and development to Independently determining approach and assigned tasks.

  • should work with the cross functional departments which comprise of Purchasing, Strategic sourcing and Engineering to drive the organizational vision and goals.

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% with in EnerSys plant(s) and Supplier(s).

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and improve the supplier manufacturing process.

  • Proactive approach towards problem-solving to improve the KPI(s) related to the Quality Department.

  • To perform this job successfully, individual must have curiosity toward technical aspects of mechanical and electrical components as well as to lean-manufacturing approach.

  • 3+ years of practical knowledge of supplier management

  • Strong data analysis skill and data driven approach.

  • Relative experience in design or manufacturing environment with a good understanding of product life cycle from conception to obsolescence.

  • Lead and develop suppliers and internal team with effective communication, problem solving and delegation skills.

EDUCATION &SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical discipline, practical knowledge of supplier management, supplier audit

  • Highly proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point).

  • Certified IATF 16949 Supplier auditor or experience in performing supplier audits with plan to get certified.

  • Good knowledge of Electronics, electrical and Mechanical components, and their manufacturing processes.

  • Good working and ability to train team MS Excel, MS office tools and constant drive to learn new technology.

  • Good understanding of the AIAG Quality core tools, Quality tools: APQP, PPAP, 8D's, Continuous improvement.

  • Good Communication and writing skills and work independently with minimum supervision by direct manager

  • Understanding of QMS ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100.
