Our customer is a leader in technologically advanced HVAC equipment, Energy Management, and service support.
They have an immediate need for a Supplier Quality Engineer to work out of their facility located in southern Minnesota.
This is a direct hire position with full benefits.
Summary: This position will drive the processes governing supplier quality.
The SQE will interface with the supplier base and other business unit departments to qualify new suppliers and parts, resolve nonconformities, and drive continuous process and product improvements as a member of the internal audit team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities; The position supports the business unit with regard to their supplier quality needs.
Assesses supplier performance by performing analytical analysis on performance data and provides reports/communicates findings regarding this performance to the Business Unit.
Has regular contact with current company suppliers and potential new suppliers.
Responsible for assessing potential new suppliers and making recommendations regarding approval.
Responsible for issuing supplier level corrective actions and providing assistance to suppliers in implementing the corrective actions.
Also responsible for tracking the corrective actions to ensure response and effectiveness.
Represents quality in all required aspects of new product development (NPI). Understands Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise concepts and the ability to apply related tool sets.
Some travel may be required.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a technical field, preferably engineering; at least two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Certificates and Licenses: ASQ Certification:
QC Engineer, Auditor.
Six Sigma Certification: Green or Black belt.
