Position Overview:

Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to direct programs that involve suppliers through the development phase.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the supplier qualification process

  • Partner with Project Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Cost Engineers, Purchasing and Program Managers to successfully transition programs from development to production. Participate in AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) meetings as needed

  • Develop and manage the supplier project schedules required to meet customer requirements and keep Phillips-Medisize Development Team updated on timeline progress

  • Drive completion of Incoming Inspection criteria for new purchased components and parts returning to Phillips-Medisize after subcontractor work completion, develop statistical incoming sampling/control plans as needed

  • Identify the need for supplier audits and perform them

  • Build partnership relationships with key suppliers

  • Maintain detailed performance metrics for key suppliers and drive continual improvement of suppliers

  • Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs

  • Some programs may have vision requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • . B.S. degree in engineering or technical field with a minimum of 7 years related experience;

Minimum 10 years' experience managing projects, and developing and implementing quality systems

  • Minimum of 2 years working directly with suppliers

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to audit to ISO-13485:2016 standards. FDA 820 210/211 preferred

  • Strong understanding of statistics

  • Some travel required (estimated 15-30% of driving, flying or overnight; 1-3 day trips)

  • Sound management and leadership skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

  • Experience in manufacturing operations and regulatory along with knowledge of ISO 13485 and GMP guidelines

Essential Functions: * Provide support to all Philips-Medisize 21CFR 210/211 registered sites and/or drug projects to ensure excellence in quality and compliance for components and finished devices, including combination products * Interface with all combination product manufacturing sites and implement best practices. * Provide expertise for the continuous improvement of the quality system as it pertains to combination products and labeling. * Establish and maintain a global strategy for Pre-Production and Commercial Manufacturing activities related to pharmaceutical projects * Implement systems and procedures that assure compliance with Quality Standards * Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended process improvements to team or management. * Review and approve test method validation and stability plans and reports. * Provide technical support for laboratory testing to ensure root cause analysis of all issues identified by test and investigative results. * Participate in supplier audits / assessments, ensuring compliance with associated Phillips-Medisize policies, QMS and regulatory requirements for any API suppliers. * Support internal and external site audits and inspections. * Assist in developing combination product lot release activities per approved process. * Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs * Some programs may have vision requirements Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications Required Qualifications: * B.S. degree in quality, business, engineering field or other science/technical field with minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality/Regulatory, Manufacturing, Design, Continuous Improvement, Sourcing, or Laboratory functions. * Solid understanding of cGMP guidelines as they pertain to pharmaceutical manufacturing, with an emphasis on quality standards, testing, compliance, facility, equipment and process qualification activities. Skills and Abilities: * Work experience with the following: FDA Quality System Regulations, current Good Manufacturing or Laboratory Practices (cGMPs or GLPs), ISO 13485, standards and/or equivalent. * Experience understanding proper documentation / quality requirements for a regulated environment * Experience and knowledge of current Good Manufacturing or Laboratory Practices (cGMPs or GLPs), USP, AAMI, global Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485 or equivalent. * Experience understanding proper documentation / quality requirements for a regulated environment. * Experience applying engineering concepts such as design of experiments, risk management, validation, methodical problem solving, and statistical analysis to drive continuous improvement activities. * Strong project/program management experience * Well-developed interpersonal communication, decision-making and leadership skills. * Able to work with internal and external customers. * Ability to work in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment. * Basic statistical knowledge and application.
