Job overview Under general supervision, this position is responsible for leading task forces at the supplier, investigating, analyzing, and correcting problems (trouble shooting) of supplier parts and processes to ensure quality and output. Collaborating of cross-functional partnerships within the company (worldwide) and with suppliers within the NAFTA region. Duties and responsibilities
Procure and maintain a comprehensive overview of Team's activities with regards to assigned commodities for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) specifications: PPAP review (AIAG, VDA, etc.),
Run-at-Rate, appearance approval, setting boundary samples, reviewing trial parts, line support, part readiness (launch) reports (for management team), fixture and gauge concept(s), and capabilities validation.
Identify critical supplier capacity/capability issues and drive resolution with suppliers.
Provide lessons learned from current running series to improve future projects.
Monitor supplier performance to Daimler's targets and standards.
Facilitate improvement phase using problem solving and continuous improvement techniques.
Lead supplier quality audits, and document audit scores with a roadmap for supplier improvement. I
nitiate and validate improvements.
Ensure process planning and cross-functional activities to achieve the quality, safety and production goals of Daimler. Provide structured supplier quality performance and strategy overviews and recommendations to MBUSI management.
Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
Develop equipment tracking timeline to track supplier readiness.
Identify support of necessary requirements for external suppliers.
Travel frequently within NAFTA region.
Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.
Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
Work safely 100% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum level of education This position requires a Bachelor's degree in (Choose all the apply): Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional Experience A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s): Engineering within Original Equipment Manufacturing or a Tier 1 Supplier Required skills Strong planning and problem solving skills required using established methodologies including 8-D, 5-Why, etc.
Strong communication skills are required, as well the ability to communicate complex topics into a cross-functional and cross -cultural environment.
Capable of using hand measurement tools (i.e. calipers, micro-meters).
Working knowledge in VDA 6.3, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), process planning and MPS tools.
Experience in leading task forces and demonstrated trouble shooting skills. Industrialization knowledge required.
Understanding the application of statistical technical and highly developed skills in oral and written communication. Preferred skills
(These skills are not essential but useful) Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP and Six-Sigma.
