The Supplier Quality Engineer is the key participant in maintaining compliance and driving process improvement in the supplier quality area. This role works closely with cross-functional teams across departments including management levels to ensure we are doing business with high-quality suppliers and providing appropriate feedback to our suppliers.
A Day in the Life
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
Monitors supplier performance, and initiates corrective actions, as required.
Perform statistical analysis of process data; interpret, compile and organize results and reports.
Ensures that all tasks are conducted in accordance with Quality System procedures.
Drive the resolution of non-conformances directly with the supplier to reduce reoccurrence
Travel to associated Medtronic Manufacturing facilities and Suppliers in support of projects.
Executes short and long-term objectives for the sub-set function (i.e. Supplier Owned Quality, Go Green, and integration programs)
Active participant regarding suppliers for improvement projects to ensure compliance to product specifications, customer requirements and quality systems requirements defined by Medtronic, the FDA and other regulatory authorities.
MUST HAVE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, sciences or other technical field.
3+ years quality assurance / supplier quality engineering preferred
Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis tools
Experience with Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to read blueprints
Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
Excellent oral and written skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work cross functionally and communicated effectively
