Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will gather and analyze data to plan, coordinate and report quality improvements. Conduct internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to ensure quality procedures and norms are met.
Responsibility: The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) functions within Quality team across the product life cycle and multiple technology domains. The team has responsibilities for the work product Quality and Integrated Product Team (IPT) execution across requirements, design, procurement and manufacturing, test, integration and sustainment. The individual will interface with various functional and program areas within HRP and associated sub-contractors to assure compliance and continuous improvement. Under general direction, leads supplier related quality issues and improvement projects to ensure successful supplier base with systems that meet business criteria. SQE will issue supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs) to suppliers in a timely manner and ensure effective containment within HRP.
Accountability: The position requires results-based execution of Quality tasks within the assigned Integrated Product Team(s) focusing on processes and design following procurement into build, test and sustainment. The individual will provide Quality Sciences Subject Matter Expertise for work products and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives. This position will ensure IPT alignment to HRP processes enabling Quality products and drive overall Quality performance. The individual must be able to work at all levels of the organization to drive systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and/or qualitative analytical capabilities and be able to communicate basic process diagnostics in a concise data driven manner. Specifically, the individual in this position will be accountable for data integrity and accuracy of defect documentation, CARs, Material Review Board (MRB) Disposition, Standard Enforcement, Follow-though, Technical, Operational and Process Assessments, Variation Management and Continuous Improvement.
Authority: The individual SQE must apply effective analytical skills to prioritize opportunities for improvement, set expectations and hold process owners accountable to achieve compliant standards and improvement mindset with results-oriented data driven skills. They must exhibit strong planning, coordination, facilitation, analysis, coordination and influencing skills to achieve continuous improvement objectives. This will take place process-by-process, program-by-program. Results will link up to successful program execution. The candidate must also have Quality Science understanding and Product Development, Hardware and/or Software Quality Principles and/or Software Development Life Cycle, Supplier Quality Management and Manufacturing knowledge. The SQE has the independence, authority, and empowerment to enforce all aspects of HRP Quality Standards to ensure compliance to company standards, certification body and contractual requirements.
Overall Duties:
Ensure flow down of HRP and contract program requirements to hardware and/or software designers and throughout procurement and/or development, build, assembly, and sustainment phases
Analyze warranty data and determine critical suppliers t o lead, facilitate, and influence Root Cause, Corrective and Preventive Action activity
Lead compliance to design and build related Quality/mission success requirements through the engineering - delivery and support and application of existing Quality systems
Conduct/Coordinate process and product evaluations, audits, and assessments at supplier site
Complete multi variable relational data analysis for situational awareness, predictive and systemic performance issues
Assist or lead start up activities and/or site activations in Quality plan development and execution
Identify changes in customer, regulatory, or statutory requirements and facilitate implementation at the organizational, program or enterprise level
Perform engineering evaluation, defect analysis, and develop/implement nondestructive test methods and equipment
Ensure proper investigations and analyses were preformed prior to effective closure of issues
Review and approve Technical and Manufacturing Data Package release and change control
Review major deliverables to ensure contract compliance prior to delivery to the customer
Team with other Quality engineers to form a collaborative, highly intellectual, statistical-approach organization
Local Customer Representative Interface
Define and infuse differentiating value of Quality
Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Engineering.
MBA / MS (recommended)
At least 3 years relevant experience.
Preferred related certifications: ASQ CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA, 6Sigma GB, BB, MBB, Lean
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Comprehension of practical applications of engineering science and technology.
Strong project management abilities.
Engineering, Technology and Quality Sciences education and background
Knowledge of Quality systems, concepts, and management and planning tools
Statistical Quality/Process Control knowledge including implementation
High energy, self - starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement
Ability to generate, review, and / or implement policies and procedures, work instructions and test procedures
Demonstrated analytical skills in Root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions
Strategic and tactical thinking, planning, facilitating and team-coordination skills
General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ISO9001)
Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration, communications and presentations
Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging, team-oriented environment

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $69,000 - $90,000 and will be based on the candidate's qualification, experience, and education.
