POSITION OVERVIEW
Hyzon Motors is searching for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier audits, supplier quality, and manufacturing support and engineering for suppliers. The Supplier Quality Engineer will work with Hyzon's global supplier base to ensure world class quality for automotive manufacturing and vehicle assembly. The Supply Quality Engineer will work remotely with travel to the United States up to 25% and internationally as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop positive relationships and work closely with Supply Chain Team to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, and New Product Introductions.
Travel to suppliers in the United States (up to 25% of the time) and internationally as needed.
Based on performance and business needs, set priorities for suppliers including production demand, inventory, supply, materials, and logistics.
Perform regular quality control audits and supplier audits to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards.
Review incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
Serve as a liaison between the company's senior management team and vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
Plan, organize, direct, and report all activities and matters relating to supplier performance including maintaining supplier scorecards and compliance.
Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.
Improve processes, part quality, and overall efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or logistics
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or program management
Experience in electronic/electrical assembly and mechanical fabrication/machining.
Prior experience in automotive or vehicle manufacturing industry including APQP, PPAP, supplier corrective action request (SCAR), IATF 16949 / TS 16949, and ISO9001.
Understanding manufacturing, material flow, process change, and quality process
Strong problem solving and data analytics skills including 8D or 7 Step problem solving methodology.
Ability to work in an international culturally diverse, fast paced, and dynamic environment
