Your Role

The SQA Engineer role is responsible for managing and developing supplier's performance in quality, process control and continuous improvement to support service business. You will Lead suppliers to be proactive on quality and production efficiency improvement to contribute to sustainable service part supplying and service business profitablity. You will work on a team of 4 other purchasing professionals and report to our Purchasing Manager. You will work a hybrid schedule #LI-Hybrid at our South Charlotte facility. About 10% travel is expected with this role.

  • You will have a shared responsibility in the selection of new suppliers. Quality is one of the most important selection criteria in this process

  • You will ensure that quality specifications meet our standards.

  • You will evaluate the general quality management system and the process quality by leading a quality approval plan (documentation review, sample validation, etc.).

  • You will investigate on regular basis the quality of the supplied products by carrying out audits and follow-up of the corrective action plan.

  • You will further develop the supplier quality management and supplier improvement processes focusing on service business needs.

  • You will perform a close follow-up of the quality performance of the supplier. You define the expected quality level and PPM targets. Your approach will reflect a continuous pursuit of "zero defect supply".

  • you will be in close contact with the supplier to define the root causes of issues.

  • You will have clear communication with the supplier to define a solution and corrective actions

  • You will also support in solving claims from the field.

  • You will guarantee optimal management of systems and databases (quality deviations, rejection procedure, first sample check, audit reports.

  • You will closely partner with purchasing and engineering of product companies and CTS, as well as with the employees of the Service Center.

To succeed, you will need

Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in driving quality improvements in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field.(or equivalent work experience)

Skills

  • Good knowledge and eqperience in manufacturing processes

  • Technical and analytical skillls needed to understand manufacturing processes, support quality initiatives, execute root cause analysis, and coach suppliers in performance.

  • ability to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change

  • Organized, self motivated and able to work independantly

  • Customer focused

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
