Summary

Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Qualifies new suppliers and monitors supplier performance. Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required Certifications and Training

  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

LEVEL DESCRIPTION

  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Typical Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.

Key Responsibilities: * Manage and/or lead a small team within Supplier Quality Engineering. Develop team members to increase business acumen and functional skills * Work on complex supplier and production issues where analysis of issues requires in-depth knowledge of production processes and quality systems. * Plan and direct assigned operational and project activities with the accountability for successful completion of assigned deliverables * Identify opportunities internally and at suppliers to lead the implementation of changes to drive improvements. * Oversee engineering tasks; provide technical guidance and feedback to technicians/engineers; Guide lower level employees on more complex procedures * Create/update complex engineering documents including requirement specs, and risk documents with robust knowledge on design control requirements * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the implementation of NCR, SCAR, CAPA, and NOC program including training, approvals, and system effectiveness. Manage supplier audit schedule and execute supplier audits.
