What you'll be doing...

Your role as the Supplier Manager is to ensure that selected suppliers deliver a seamless, high quality services to Verizon, and Verizon's customers, ensuring agreed deliverables, milestones and Service Levels are met within scope and agreed timelines. Your work will focus on aligning our services with the business goals of your clients and drive win-win opportunities for all parties. You will play a pivotal role in driving the satisfaction and retention of your clients.

As part of a fast-paced, results-oriented team, you will also collaborate with other functional teams. You will work or interface with different expertise like; Procurement, Finance, Projects Office and Account Management to ensure that Suppliers meet Verizon and customer expectations, contractual commitments and cost targets.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Five or more years of relevant experience.

  • Background in Supplier Management.

  • Program Management reporting experience.

  • Worked in the telecommunications industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent abilities in coordinating multiple projects across multiple organizations.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS office applications.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, working across multiple levels of management (internal, external, vendor).

  • Used understanding of client needs to drive development of solutions that are aligned with customers' emerging business needs.

PREVIOUS CANDIDATES WILL NEED TO REAPPLY POSITION SUMMARY This is a new position within Virginia ABC that will manage our newly created Supplier Management Program. The Supplier Relationship Manager is responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing relationships with strategic (high-value, high-dependency) IT suppliers and internal stakeholders. Key suppliers are viewed as strategic partners who add-value, innovate in partnership, and drive continuous improvement for Virginia ABC. Additionally, they will be expected to work in a collaborative environment with various internal business stakeholders and Sr. Leadership to foster long-term relationships with key strategic suppliers to form deep, mutually benefitting partner relationships and understanding. This position will be responsible for: Minimum Qualifications ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ?Delivering and maintaining an effective SRM governance plan, ensuring that the appropriate SRM methods are applied to the management of key strategic suppliers. * Managing Strategic Suppliers to ensure that performance complies with agreed to service levels, all material relationship objectives are met, and gaps between actual and expected vendor performance are remediated ?Lead Supplier Performance Reviews with Strategic Suppliers and ensure the appropriate internal stakeholders are engaged ?Administer Performance Scorecards to Strategic Suppliers to capture actual performance against required service levels and to address contract risks. ?Proactively track Strategic Supplier compliance with contractual service levels through data analysis, performance reviews and gap analysis ?Report out Supplier metrics on a consistent basis to Business Stakeholders and Sr. Leadership on Supplier Performance, Risks, Cost Savings, and Opportunities for Improvement ?Educate internal stakeholders on requirements of Contract Administration, which includes ensuring internal stakeholders understand how to use and monitor usage of Supplier Contracts. ?Collaborate with Strategic Suppliers to address performance gaps and open contract risks ?Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and Strategic Suppliers to ensure relationships are delivering their optimal value, which includes identifying areas for improvement ?Designated primary contact for vendor operational and performance issues and requests from within the business, which includes processing Vendor Complaints', Appeals, Disputes, Resolutions and Defaults. JOB QUALIFICATIONS ?Experience in a sourcing, contracting or supplier management role, including IT services, software licensing and maintenance, hardware, infrastructure, managing outsourced agreements and/or related sourcing and contracting activities; ?Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex IT contracts, outline and track mutual commitments, and identify service level agreements or other obligations; ?Strong analytical experience in tracking Supplier performance and spend; ?Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing procedures and policies that support effective contract usage; ?Ability to build positive and effective partnerships with key suppliers; ?Expert influencing & negotiation skills; ?A good understanding of broader business objectives and the implications of strategic planning across business areas; ?Ability to deal with ambiguity and the capability to make decisions or recommendations with incomplete information; ?Experience managing procurement activities and delivering procurement value; ?Experience managing the day-to-day supplier issues/opportunities; ?Experience monitoring performance of suppliers on a regular basis, developing action plans where necessary, and following through to ensure supplier specific results occur; ?Ability to challenge the status quo and adapt readily to changing business requirements; ?Experience with timely escalation of matters to Executives in a clear and concise manner; ?Ability to build collaborative and strong internal relationships while learning about the business and services to aid in communicating with Suppliers, understanding the parameters and looking for opportunities; ?Ability to operate independently with self-prioritization of workload; ?Demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions through critical thinking and reasoning; ?Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multiple complex efforts/projects concurrently in an autonomous environment; ?Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and reporting skills, and organization skills; ?Experience in dispute resolution and supplier adherence to SLAs and other contractual commitments.
