Supplier Diversity is the practice of intentionally utilizing businesses owned and controlled by Minority, Women, LGBT, Veteran, and Disabled persons within an organization's supply chain. Supplier Diversity professionals are the bridge between diverse businesses and the companies they wish to support.

This role will support Charter Communications' Strategic Procurement team in driving the company toward best in class Supplier Diversity performance. As an integral part of our Supplier Diversity Team, this individual will support the program management, reporting, analysis, and relationship-building component of the Procurement organization's Supplier Diversity Program. The role requires a collaborative spirit, an understanding of Strategic Sourcing processes and Supplier Diversity best practices, and the ability to support the implementation and development of program principles within Charter.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support implementation and enhancement of Charter's Supplier Diversity Program. Includes policies, procedures, objectives, processes, and communications to increase the opportunities for and the utilization of diverse suppliers

  • Assist in developing annual and multi-year program plans to help Charter meet Supplier Diversity goals and continuously improve

  • Serve as primary point of contact for Tier 2 reporting program. Focus on Tier 2 spend improvement, analysis, prime supplier onboarding, and general reporting management

  • Manage and respond to the Supplier Diversity email inbox

  • Support and assist in the development of presentations and reports, both internal and external

  • Work closely with Procurement Analytics Team to measure and report diverse spend and activity (supplier, Business Unit, Enterprise levels). Includes assisting in analyzing data and developing presentation materials

  • Work with Strategic Sourcing Teams to identify business unit opportunities to utilize diverse suppliers. Includes understanding supply requirements, and identifying/engaging qualified diverse suppliers for consideration in sourcing events

  • Help implement new and innovative methods to identify and qualify diverse supplier candidates

  • Identify and help implement opportunities to make it simple for diverse suppliers to apply/qualify/partner with Charter

  • Support efforts to build relationships with various local and regional diversity council organizations

  • Attend and represent Charter at various local and national diversity conferences and meetings. Coordinate event schedules and the participation of other Charter employees and Business Units (e.g., matchmaking events to identify qualified candidates)

  • Promote Charter in the Supplier Diversity community

  • Support and assist in conducting and leading Supplier Diversity-related training sessions to internal and external stakeholders

  • Perform other duties as requested that support the success of Charter's Supplier Diversity Program

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Procurement or supply chain understanding

  • Takes initiative and sees tasks through to completion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

  • Excellent relationship building skills (internal customers, suppliers, diversity councils)

  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-pace environment

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build a customer-focused culture

  • Ability to travel to local and national events and activities relevant to the program

  • Perform other duties as requested

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

2+ years of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or related experience

0-3 years of Supplier Diversity or Diversity & Inclusion program experience
