Faurecia Interior Systems, Inc., a Tier-1 supplier of automotive interiors, seeks a Supplier Costing Manager in Auburn Hills, Michigan, to manage supplier cost estimates for the manufacture of automotive instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles during acquisition, development, and serial life phases of manufacturing programs. This position is responsible for the development and management of the Faurecia Reference Costing practices.

Duties: oversee piece price costing analysis and development costs for materials and labor used in manufacturing processes (injection molding, slush, leather wrap, and ultrasonic and infrared welding) for automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles; compare manufacturing processes to supplier capabilities, and develop source and pricing for plastics, resins, steel, leather, chrome, and vinyl; identify and mitigate supply chain risks while maximizing savings; review cost estimating data on external constraints for materials used in manufacture of automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles, and identify supplier differentiation criteria; validate material cost modeling and analysis for automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles to establish global marketplace best-in-class for Quality Cost Delivery; interpret product blueprints, drawings, material specifications, and manipulation of CAD data; evaluate DFMEA and PFMEA for automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles, to ensure compliance with safety requirements; support manufacturing program teams through the collection, review, and analysis of pricing data; secure the utilization of cost effective rates for materials and machinery; analyze cost structures and manufacturing feasibility, and advise sales engineers of design and manufacturing alternatives to reduce costs and increase manufacturing throughputs; establish pricing targets for materials and manufacturing processes and determine whether industrial production changes are required to save cost; train cost estimating team members on manufacturing processes and their impact on part costs; oversee the career development of the cost estimating team. Minimum education required: Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, or Business, or foreign equivalent degree.

Minimum experience required: 2 years' experience in a product engineering or cost estimating position with a Tier-1 supplier of automotive interiors. Special skills required: Must have 2 years' work experience in each of the following: establishing Bill of Materials and corresponding cost models for the materials (plastics, resins, steel, leather, chrome and vinyl) and manufacturing processes (injection molding, slush, leather wrap, and ultrasonic and infrared welding) used in the manufacture of automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles; interpreting blueprints and part drawings of automotive instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles; evaluating alternative plastic welding processes and materials for the manufacture of automotive interior instrument panels, door panels, and center consoles.
