Duties
Specific duties include:
Performs the duties of the Team Coach in his/her absence and shares in those responsibilities on a daily basis.
Ensures that the team's quality and timeliness of service meets performance indicator goals.
Responsible for the cost-effective use of resources to accomplish the team's assigned outcomes.
Gathers, interprets, and recommends appropriate action based on a wide range of data addressing service concerns.
Analyzes and interprets laws, rules and regulations and their effect on the establishment of new policies, procedures, and/or methods of operation.
Monitor leave balances, approve/deny leave, and certify timecards.
Run production and workload reports.
Communicate with senior management.
Promotion Potential: None, GS-12 is the full performance level.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:07/09/2024.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-12 Grade Level:
Specialized Experience: Performance of technical assignments affecting the entire field of VA's compensation and pension (C&P) benefits programs. These assignments would have required interpretation of the full range of C&P laws and regulations, to include precedent opinions of the Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims and authoritative opinions of the General Counsel. Experience may have been gained as a VSR Authorizer, RVSR, AQRS or DRO. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Quality assurance or auditor functions related to claims processing and benefit determination.
Adjudication and authorization of compensation, pension, and claims.
Determination to reconsider claims appeal cases and preparation/presentation of such cases
Education Substitution: None
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week.
Physical Requirements: The work normally involves mental rather than physical exertion.
