About the Position: Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining leader development, education, and training programs in US Army professional military education within the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE).

Responsibilities

  • Research organization initiatives to analyze piloted training and/or education programs.

  • Develop manning structure estimates to ensure programs will meet milestones.

  • Synchronize training and/or education development initiatives to execute tasking.

  • Assign work to civilian and/or military personnel to ensure mission accomplishment.

  • Evaluate educational practices and trends within the discipline to implement improvements in curriculum development, educational philosophy and instructional procedures.

  • Ensure training and/or education requirements are integrated to establish best practices for the program.

  • Apply education development philosophy, principles, concepts, and/or methods to develop learning products.

  • Develop specific plans to present key training, education, and/or leader development information to target audiences.

  • Determine strategy needed to deliver leader development training and/or education programs.

  • Assess training and/or education program success/outcome to refine the training and/or leader development process.

  • Prepare formal briefings to keep senior leaders informed of leader development programs.

  • Develop executive correspondence responding to congressional inquiries regarding training and/or educational programs.

  • Write decision papers to support recommendations.

  • Review doctrine to identify appropriate training tasks and educational outcomes competencies for the student population.

  • Adjust training and/or education methodology according to individual course participants to ensure training and/or education material is properly conveyed.

  • Lead discussions at seminars regarding the transformation of leader development training and/or education models.

  • Brief senior leaders to provide recommendations regarding training and/or education policy.

  • Collaborate with other leaders to make decisions regarding the quality of action documents.

  • Counsel subordinates to provide performance standard information.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the application of the Experiential Learning Model (ELM) or other adult learning model to provide training and/or education products.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
