The responsibilities described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Review applications and petitions the Financial Agent is unable to process and develop solutions to continue processing. If unable to continue processing, rejects and returns the applications or petitions to the applicant.
Resolve concerns raised by USCIS customers related to Lockbox receipt and rejection of applications and petitions.
Represent the division at meetings and conferences. Acts as a liaison with various internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholders. Actively participates in or conduct meetings to discuss best practices/issues that impact the program.
Manage the review of operational activities to identify new processes ad procedures to improve efficiency, make recommendations based on findings. Develop Standard Operating Procedures that are in line with new policies/procedures.
Implement strategies to optimize resources, and make decisions to allocate team resources to meet the needs of all programs in the midst of competing priorities, finite resources, and administrative needs.
Interview candidates for positions in the division; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such position.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Supervisory/Managerial Probation Period: You may be required to serve a one (1) year probationary period upon appointment to this position. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.

GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Directing the development of evaluation plans, procedures and methodologies.
Conducting studies; analyzing and evaluating proposed changes; researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices to determine the impact on program operations.
