This position is located in the Dietary Department of the Lawton Indian Hospital and serves as the Lawton Service Unit Dietitian who is responsible for the management of the Dietary Program, providing nutritional education and analysis to patients.

Degree: dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science.
Dietitian: The curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by The American Dietetic Association (ADA) in effect at the time of graduation.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-9 OR three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Specialized Experience: Experience in principles, practices, and procedures in the field of dietetics required to perform and direct the specialized activities of the food service management function for patients on regular and modified diets. Develops nutritional plans and consult with patients of all age groups, community groups and other health professionals. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Registration: Each PHS dietitian must possess and maintain a current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Applicants must submit a copy of their current registration with application.
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
Graduate Education: Completion of graduate level education in the amounts shown in the table, in addition to meeting the basic requirements, is qualifying. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
