Exercise administrative and management supervisory authority for team personnel and monitor supporting contractors in the execution of their assigned duties and projects.
Represent the organization in various types of forums to render decisions and to coordinate, advice and participate in developing broad courses of action on matters affecting the implementation of mission essential software for the assigned project.
Serve as Chief of the Technical Integration Team, Systems Development Office, in support of TRADOC Capability Manager-Army Training Information System to provide administrative and technical coordinated planning and procedural guidance.
Make authoritative technical decisions and commitments relative to feasibility of new projects and requested services, both within established policy, and in establishing policy.
Utilize a broad and authoritative professional knowledge of the various disciplines, theories, principles and techniques of computer science and development and production management.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time for this position.

This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management?s (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Basic Requirements For Computer Scientist (TRANSCRIPTS IS REQUIRED)
Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Plan workload requirements for subordinates and teams to meet recurring and special operational demands; 2) Plan the oversight process for the identification of new or advanced technologies for use within automated training information systems; 3) Provide advice and assistance on software and human factors interface problems within and outside the organization; 4) Assess software development progress at various locations within the continental United States and abroad, to assist with software/human interface issues.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
