Duties typically include; strategic planning, communicating the organization's vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring and evaluating performance of organizational units, coaching and developing staff and organizational capabilities, approving leave, and taking, recommending, or approving corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate.
Applies comprehensive knowledge in the operation of a civilian Air Traffic facility.
Exhibits advanced knowledge of the NAS and the ability to apply and interpret Air Traffic Separation Standards and Procedures.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to perform the appropriate level of work at an En Route or Terminal Facility.
Executes operational management evaluations for air traffic control facilities.
Provides comprehensive, detailed information as required for litigation support.
Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, an advanced knowledge of budget, personnel, and other administrative policies and procedures, and an advanced understanding of the objectives of the organization.
Serves as a central clearinghouse for information regarding quality control initiatives, performance, and effectiveness.
Provides oversight and implementation guidance to facilities implementing quality control initiatives.
Apprises relevant parties on status of investigations.
Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.

Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-J or FG/GS-14) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of that position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience may include, but not limited to: Experience which demonstrates understanding the purpose, function and interrelationships of: FAA and Air Traffic Organization (ATO) organizational components, functions and operations; and FAA and ATO priorities, plans, procedures and policies. In addition, all applicants must have experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that has provided applicants with a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules, and regulations.
