Aboutthe Position:

The roleholder is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity ofthe gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization ofoperations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with

Company, departmental and Regulatory policies, procedures and statutoryrequirements.

Supervisesboth internal and contracted personnel to assure the timely and cost effectivecompletion of work within the area of responsibility.

Providesemergency response and supervision of personnel engaged in a 24 hour, 7 day perweek operation.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Supervise a culturally diverseworkforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks arecarried out in an efficient manner.

  • Overseethe operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fullyutilized in order to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute workactivities within planned unit and budget cost.

  • Ensuresupervised teams comply with safety standards, policies and processes in orderto ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.

  • Review,ensure accuracy and execute the approval of area purchase orders, invoices andpayroll activities.

  • Executeall work tasks in compliance with all Company, Federal and State policy andregulatory requirements.

  • Build good working relationships withinternal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationship withthem in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriatesolutions within National Grid policies and processes.

  • Monitor performance of allocated staffincluding issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work inorder to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively.

  • Act as the first point of contact formultiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide supportand ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreement.

  • Promoteand implement best practices in order to ensure all work tasks achieve highproductivity and low costs.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Extensive operations related work experience is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and related work experience will be considered. Prior leadership experience with a focus on Gas Construction, Gas Field Operations and Customer Meter Services is a plus.

  • Technical knowledge of distribution system, engineering, construction and maintenance practices. Knowledge of state and municipal gas codes. Working knowledge of company information systems and technologies related to field operations, including FWMS, FDC, ORACLE, MAXIMO, NRG, ADVANTEX, DIGSAFE etc.

  • Applicant must exhibit proven supervisory skills and ability to work effectively with others in a team environment is necessary. The candidate must posses an exceptional safety record, strong oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to maximize performance of subordinates. Solid planning and organizing skills are required. Must possess the following competencies: Focus on Safety, Customer Satisfaction, advancing technology to protect our environment, innovation, drive for results, adaptability, demonstrate and promote teamwork.
