Set within the spectacular Trilogy community, Club Los Meganos combines striking architecture and interior design with magnificent mountain views and innovative programming. The Club features a full-service Sawa Spa, dining at Abby's Gourmet Studio, Fitness and Sports Courts and weddings in our surrounding vineyard.

Where: The East Bay area of Brentwood, California

Pay: $20 per hour

Benefits:

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Wellness Supervisor supports the daily operations of the club fitness facility, including implementing marketing and sales plans, training staff, processing payroll, and facility management and maintenance. This position reports to the Club General Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) and club policies.

  • Continually develop programs and services for members by providing a wide variety of class offerings at diverse times of the day.

  • Lead fitness workshops and/or classes, as requested.

  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Maintain fitness certifications of the fitness team and ensure the certifications match the class offers for each fitness instructor.

  • Support daily operations including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections, cash handling procedures, and general fitness facility maintenance.

  • Provide hospitality to members and guests and support to staff when needed. Lead fitness room orientations.

  • Monitor monthly sales promotions and strategies as outlined in the marketing plan; review weekly reports for retail and services.

  • Monitor member use and retention goals of the Club.

  • Work with groups scheduling spa events from initial event booking through the event.

  • Monitor the budget to ensure expenses are within budgetary limits and established financial goals.

  • Assist in training and supervising fitness staff.

  • Assist in developing monthly client reports.

  • Provide excellent customer service and help monitor member feedback through the comment forms and other customer care techniques. Help to supervise and follow up on member requests and comments.

  • Monitor fitness facility upkeep and work with the management team to correct or upgrade any conditions that are not safe or in keeping with the Club's resort image.

  • Report incidents and accidents to the Safety Lead, Wellness Director, and Club General Manager.

  • Prepare payroll and financial reports in accordance with BSRG policy.

  • Monitor inventory for all retail fitness products.

  • Implement proper inventory and purchasing procedures; submit purchase orders to the Club General Manger for approval.

  • Ensure pool operation, including staff, supplies, and sanitation.

  • Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Current appropriate certifications from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, or NSPA to teach specified class offerings.

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • One to three years' leadership experience in a Wellness, Health Club, Fitness Club, or Spa environment, with minimum of one year supervisory experience required.

  • Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) certification, if required by the facility.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Club management system software or other retail or database software a plus.

  • Knowledge of professional fitness services required.

  • Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems required.

  • Must possess basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.

  • Must demonstrate initiative-ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

  • This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, with limited travel as required.

  • Valid driver's license is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position generally operates in a professional indoor environment with some exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife, when outdoors on the facility grounds. There is routine use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear, see, speak clearly and understand the speech of another person, sit, stand and walk (occasionally for an extended period), use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
