Key Responsibilities:

Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Utilities Maintenance Supervisor to support the Supply Chain team to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.

This role contributes to the success of the Bradenton Plant by effectively leading the Utilities Maintenance Team to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility's utility systems. The Utilities Maintenance Team consists of a planner/scheduler and approximately 15 maintenance technicians.

The facility's utilities systems include:

  • 18,000 TR ammonia refrigeration system
  • 48MW/120klb/hr Cogeneration plant,
  • 3MM gal/day process wastewater treatment facility
  • 25k SCFM of instrument quality compressed air system
  • 600+ HVAC assets, and various Fire & Safety and Environmental Operational systems.

Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of the facility's utility systems through leadership of the Utilities Maintenance Team to drive performance of their required duties with quality and attention to detail to deliver business objectives

  • Ensure proper resources to provide necessary repair and maintenance activities to ensure proper operations of the utility systems through scheduling and hiring

  • Work as part of a Line Centric Team with operations and engineering to ensure equipment is maintained in a safe manner to provide reliable service and to ensure redundant and back up systems are kept at a ready state

  • Active leadership and participation in facility's Progressive Maintenance (PM) pillar and promoting a culture of planning and scheduling vs reactivity.

  • Monitor and utilize maintenance KPI's to set priorities and drive decision making

  • Leading and participating in root cause analysis of incidents, near misses and breakdowns and implementing corrective countermeasures as they relate to maintenance team and performance

  • Coordinate and support engineering efforts to improve system safety, reliability and efficiency through capital improvements

  • Utilize visual factory concepts to maximize asset utilization and plant performance

  • Participate in leadership role within site Process Safety Management team as it relates to ammonia refrigeration maintenance

  • Ensure proper utilization of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Provide the tools, training, coaching and troubleshooting support for front line employees and coordinate with external technical support when necessary to meet business needs

  • Work with Manager, Utilities Operations Supervisor, plant operations and front line team to prioritize and manage tasks

  • Monitor progress to plan and performance of front line employees and drive decision making to front line and deliver results

  • Regular and predictable attendance at the work site and a regular presence on the plant floor

  • Ensure all safety rules, procedure, policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed

  • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally

  • This role requires participation in a leadership capacity of the facility's Emergency Response Team (Hazwoper)

  • This role requires occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain

  • This role requires occasional off-shift and weekend work

  • This role may require some travel (less than 5%)

Requirements:

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required

  • Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Power Plant, Ammonia Refrigeration and Waste Water system maintenance preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Experience with Process Safety Management preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite/Office applications

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others

  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
