Now hiring a Supervisor Third Party Billing.

The Supervisor Third Party Billing is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Patient Accounting Third Party Billing and Follow-up Team to ensure that all paper and electronic claims are filed and processed within the established performance standards and to ensure appropriate and adequate follow-up, appeals, and denial management of all assigned payers. Serves as the primary trainer/teacher and coach for the staff. Ensure that all adjustments are properly authorized and appropriate backup documentation is maintained.

Ideal Candidate:

Must have one to two years of college level courses or three years healthcare business office experience in lieu of college level courses AND two years experience in healthcare billing technology and methods as well as general to detailed knowledge of payer requirements.

Qualifications

  • One to two years of college level courses or three years healthcare business office experience in lieu of college level courses AND two years experience in healthcare billing technology and methods as well as general to detailed knowledge of payer requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing to customers, providers and peers.

  • Good organizational and people skills and ability to function effectively under stress. Excellent interpersonal skills, open and approachable personality.

  • High School/GED

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Manager in ensuring that all claims are processed and paid at the prescribed production standards of quality and are well documented to facilitate regulatory compliance and successful outcomes to internal/external review and audits.

  • Identifies patterns in resubmitted and adjusted claims. Identifies trends and inconsistencies that require revisions to billing/follow-up guidelines and/or system modifications. Addresses trends with the manager. Maintains electronic billing systems.

  • Acts as a resource person to answer questions internally or externally. Assures open and timely communication with all employees.

  • Reviews daily/weekly reports and formulates work plans and assignments based on the analysis of the workload and available personnel. Prepare work status reports and statistics for the Manager and Director within established timeframes for distribution.

  • Assists manager in developing, maintaining, monitoring, and enforcing the department policies procedures, and departmental goals. Assists manager in identifying and maintaining training needs for the team to ensure that team and individual goals are met.

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities and staff of their assigned team to meet established goals and targets. Performs quality audits to ensure goals and targets are met.

  • Other dutiers as assigned.
