The Supply Chain Supervisor is accountable for managing the processes and Buyers for obtaining goods and services; assists the Director of Procurement in the establishment and improvement of processes and metrics; prepares relative documents; and represents the Supply Chain Manager, as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare formal procurement instruments
Manage and develop procurement plans, evaluate buyer proposals and contractual agreements for appropriate investment strategies and special terms and conditions
Assist in the actual procurement of parts for specific commodities
Evaluate and manage resources; such as personnel, space and equipment requirements and make recommendations to Director of Procurement
Develop and manage training programs
Manage and oversee Preventative and Corrective actions
Manage process improvements and development of metrics
Guide, coach, and manage performance of all subordinates
Assist and/or represent Director as required through writings, documentation, or personal representation
Foster increased productivity and advancement opportunities through personal commitment to professional development and by practicing continuous improvement of processes
Audit or oversee auditing of employee timekeeping records and submit to Payroll, as scheduled Maintain knowledge of supervisory responsibilities and enforce and uphold current Federal and State labor laws and Wesco employment, safety and security policies and Work Instructions, as applicable
Prepare effective and timely performance evaluations, conduct reviews, administer salary adjustments, promotions or disciplinary actions and facilitate additional training or mentoring as, needed, driving maximum productivity and quality of processes, systems and procedures; in accordance with budgetary restrictions and compensation policies
Conduct and/or attend regularly scheduled departmental or company-sponsored meetings or training, as required
Bachelor's degree; or 3-5 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) Certification, is preferred
Buying experience within the aerospace industry is preferred
Proven critical-thinker, with ability to strategize material plans and forecast material needs
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others to excellence
Demonstrated ability to present information or instruct in a professional and effective manner
Proven ability to analyze and produce profitable procurement plans and strategies
Excellent knowledge of Wesco's material products, policies, procedures and practices
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Clear and accurate data entry and documentation skills
Strong follow-through and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently and ethically, with internal customers suppliers; or business partners
Ability to be detailed oriented and perform in-depth research, if required
Strong competency working with integrated data systems, Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and intermediate to advanced Word and Excel (i.e., spreadsheets, formulas, importing and exporting of files, as applicable) as required
