The Supply Chain Supervisor is accountable for managing the processes and Buyers for obtaining goods and services; assists the Director of Procurement in the establishment and improvement of processes and metrics; prepares relative documents; and represents the Supply Chain Manager, as required.


  • Prepare formal procurement instruments

  • Manage and develop procurement plans, evaluate buyer proposals and contractual agreements for appropriate investment strategies and special terms and conditions

  • Assist in the actual procurement of parts for specific commodities

  • Evaluate and manage resources; such as personnel, space and equipment requirements and make recommendations to Director of Procurement

  • Develop and manage training programs

  • Manage and oversee Preventative and Corrective actions

  • Manage process improvements and development of metrics

  • Guide, coach, and manage performance of all subordinates

  • Assist and/or represent Director as required through writings, documentation, or personal representation

  • Foster increased productivity and advancement opportunities through personal commitment to professional development and by practicing continuous improvement of processes

  • Audit or oversee auditing of employee timekeeping records and submit to Payroll, as scheduled Maintain knowledge of supervisory responsibilities and enforce and uphold current Federal and State labor laws and Wesco employment, safety and security policies and Work Instructions, as applicable

  • Prepare effective and timely performance evaluations, conduct reviews, administer salary adjustments, promotions or disciplinary actions and facilitate additional training or mentoring as, needed, driving maximum productivity and quality of processes, systems and procedures; in accordance with budgetary restrictions and compensation policies

  • Conduct and/or attend regularly scheduled departmental or company-sponsored meetings or training, as required


  • Bachelor's degree; or 3-5 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) Certification, is preferred

  • Buying experience within the aerospace industry is preferred

  • Proven critical-thinker, with ability to strategize material plans and forecast material needs

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others to excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to present information or instruct in a professional and effective manner

  • Proven ability to analyze and produce profitable procurement plans and strategies

  • Excellent knowledge of Wesco's material products, policies, procedures and practices

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Clear and accurate data entry and documentation skills

  • Strong follow-through and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently and ethically, with internal customers suppliers; or business partners

  • Ability to be detailed oriented and perform in-depth research, if required

  • Strong competency working with integrated data systems, Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and intermediate to advanced Word and Excel (i.e., spreadsheets, formulas, importing and exporting of files, as applicable) as required

This position requires use of information which is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Please review our qualifications below and APPLY NOW if interested! \n \n \n \n DESCRIPTION \n \n Global Supply Chain, Medical Devices External Operations is recruiting for a Supply Planning Analyst within the Global Orthopedics Group, reporting to the External Operations Supply Chain Planning Leader. \n \n The Supply Planning Analyst will manage supply planning and scheduling processes for external suppliers for their assigned portfolio. This person will enable attainment of target service levels, while achieving target inventory objectives. The Supply Planning Analyst will create the monthly production package for the key supplier partners and will lead production review meetings. \n \n Areas of responsibility include: \n \n \n\t * creation of purchase orders \n\t * purchase orders maintenance \n\t * new product introduction launches, \n\t * external order fulfillment, \n\t * service level, \n\t * inventory targets, \n\t * supplier production scheduling, \n\t * production execution to plan, \n\t * supply and demand balance, \n\t * production shipments and reporting, \n\t * supply issues escalation, mitigation and reporting, \n\t * product distribution and transportation, \n \n \n \n \n The Supply Planning Analyst will support the design, development and institutionalization of a best practice supply planning process with key external business partners. Collaborates with Demand Planning team to receive demand plans; conducts a formal process with the external partners to rationalize supply and demand, taking into account capacity and inventory. \n \n \n \n The ability to complete complex spreadsheet analysis during issue resolution or scenario planning is mandatory. This includes the ability to utilize the planning systems to gather key data needed to drive business decisions. This person will support External Operations inventory reduction efforts, including analysis and inventory reporting on a monthly basis. \n \n \n \n QUALIFICATIONS \n \n \n\t * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or Operations is required.
