OFFERED WAGE: $151,590.00 per year

JOB DUTIES:

Supervise and oversee the day-to-day activities and work schedule of the Operations Shift Engineering staff. Provide direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors.

Hire, coach, train, and manage performance of staff. Interact with direct reports and functional peer groups. Provide technical operations support to staff, including Energy Management System (EMS) and advanced power system analysis applications.

Provide on-the-job and coaching to employees. Act as an advisor to department and become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Lead a team to evaluate and ensure Operations within secure system operating limits.

Lead a team that acts as Subject Matter Experts for the ERCOT Guides and protocols and the NERC Standards for Day-Ahead and Real-Time Operations. Work with Market Participants as required to ensure system accuracy and resolve problems. Provide operations analysis, reports, and investigation/review both written and oral.

Provide operations engineering support for other ERCOT support personnel as required. Formulate recommendations for software enhancement and improvement of operational study accuracy. Formulate recommendations to management for changes to Operating Procedures.

Support ERCOT by working with various ERCOT subcommittees, working groups, and task forces. Represent ERCOT on NERC committees, subcommittees, working groups, and task forces as assigned. May provide input into budgeting and financial decisions that impact on the department but must request approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope per policy. May majority telecommute from within the State of Texas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering

MINIMUN EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years of experience as Power System Engineer, Operations Engineer, Power System Applications Engineer, or related position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The required five (5) years of experience as Power System Engineer, Operations Engineer, Power System Applications Engineer, or related position must have been in the electric utility industry or in the development of applications or products for power systems for the electric utility industry and must have included at least one year in a senior, team lead or similar leadership role.

OTHER:

May telecommute 2-3 days per week from within the State of Texas.
