Organize and direct one shift of the forming packing carton maintenance and warehousing areas engaged in the manufacturing of quality glass containers within company and customer specifications. Administer effective safety program ensuring full awareness and compliance of employees provide necessary training updates while striving for safety excellence and complying with OSHA standards.
Maintain good labor relations with the effective application of the labor contract. Coordinate and implement job changes with applicable departments insuring effective changes in terms of time and quality. Develop and implement process controls to provide continuous improvements.
Maintain administrative records in a timely fashion to comply with job requirements and ensure accurate record keeping such as preparing work assignments for employees schedules attendance grievance documentation and production recording. Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department with other departments and with the corporation. Provide regular training of personnel as needed to maintain new and existing equipment and ensure good GMP principals are followed.
Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policiesprograms within Department responsibilities. Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an AssociateUndergraduate Degree in a technical or business related field. Will consider a combination of education andor equivalent relevant experience.
A minimum of five 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a teambased environment. Must have excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills.
Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Applications. Plant manufacturing environment with exposure to heat fumes and moving machinery. Requires a significant amount up to 90% of standing and walking. Hearing eye and appropriate foot protection must be worn in the plants as well as other Personal Protective Equipment PPE as required.
