RN Clinical Same Day Surgery: Full-Time
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor manages healthcare team members, must have excellent communication skills to effectively counsel, support, and direct. Expected to lead others through change and crisis situations. Must have excellent critical thinking skills to problem solve issues. Must be able to delegate responsibilities to subordinates based on skill sets and scope of practice. Expected to receive and give patient care reports. Expected to assist in completion of annual reviews as delegated. Some other responsibilities within role include: chairing committees within the department, manage resource issues (staffing), oversee scheduling conflicts and facilitate orientation and on-going education of employees.
Must have clinical competence to serve as resource to subordinates. Must be self-directed with the ability to lead others. Must have effective communication, be able to critically think quickly under stress and respond appropriately to crisis situations. Must be able to effectively communicate to physicians and other healthcare team members. Must be able to collaborate and negotiate with co-workers and other healthcare team members. Must be able to effectively manage conflict.
Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.
Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff
Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty
Makes decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Current Utah State Registered Nurse Licensure.
Current BLS certification (available after hire);
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain within one year and maintain certification.
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit required. Three (3) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit preferred
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification. Must obtain within one year and maintain certification.
Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Current clinical knowledge.
