We have an excellent opportunity on our Sales Audit team for a self-motivated accounting supervisory professional with the proven ability to oversee multiple functions associated with established business processes. This position is based on our Union, NJ corporate campus.
The Supervisor will be responsible for all business processes of the Sales Audit department accounting staff. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with accounting supervisory experience.
Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month, quarter, and year-end close processes in compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
Review monthly performance reports for accuracy and on-time distribution to leadership, senior management and operating companies.
Evaluate financial and operational results; prepare, analyze and communicate monthly and annual forecasts; discuss impact with, and recommend corrective action to, leadership.
Ensure staff productivity and efficiency standards are maintained and staff is held accountable for performance.
Train, coach, motivate, set goals and plan work assignments for staff while continuously evaluating staff performance.
Maintain and enforce policies, procedures and controls.
Continually evaluate the department's processes and procedures.
Assist with special projects and research on an as needed basis.
Four-year BA/BS degree - Accounting or Finance.
Minimum three years of experience supervising accounting functions. Minimum five years of overall business experience.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, technical financial accounting and managerial accounting practices.
Strong business acumen, critical thinking, written, and verbal skills.
Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Proficiency in PC applications (MS Office Suite, e.g., Excel, Word, Access).
Prior retail sales audit accounting experience is a plus.
