Job Summary and Qualifications

Supervisor, Respiratory Therapy

• Full-time, DAYS with weekend rotation

Performs routine & critical care respiratory care procedures associated with the care of the respiratory patient; including, mechanical ventilation and routine respiratory care. Makes patient assignments for staff on respective shift. Supervises the staff RT's each shift. Monitors staff for quality assurance purposes, including auditing documentation, making floor rounds, talking to staff. Provides strong leadership/guidance to staff. Makes vital patient care & operational decisions. Makes tough decisions when needed. Disciplines staff when necessary. Documents discussions and recommendations extended to staff. Assures a proactive, positive atmosphere. Makes "positive suggestions" to staff & management regarding concerns & recommendations for the goal of improving patient care & improved departmental & hospital operations. Oversees daily productivity and assures proper usage of all available staffing and equipment resources. Reports to Manager Respiratory Care / Director Cardiopulmonary

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy

• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

• Minimum of 1 year of respiratory leadership/supervisor experience required

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

• NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
