Qualifications EDUCATION: Associate#s degree. EXPERIENCE: 2 years related experience.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Valid license in the State of Maryland required.
SKILLS: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Acts as a liaison with physicians and other departments and resolves functional inconsistencies.
Assists in the development of departmental goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Participates in departmental corrective action activities and provides appropriate supervision to all departmental staff. Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in the development and implementation of competency assessment and validation.
Participates in the development of departmental operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget. Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental performance improvement activities. Participates in the selection, training, and orientation of departmental staff. Performs patient care activities as needed.
