GENERAL SUMMARY:

Supervises, directs, and coordinates the activities of the technical, ancillary personnel and students assigned to the division(s) of responsibility. May perform Technologist duties within the division as necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs normal supervisor duties such as:

  • Interviews, hires, discharges, or makes authoritative recommendations with regard to the hiring or discharging of subordinate employees.

  • Plans work schedules and assigns work based on the availability of personnel, workload, and employee competency.

  • Evaluates employee performance, recommends pay increases, handles disputes, and takes disciplinary action as requires.

  • Keeps records, logs, etc. and prepares reports and budgets for leadership use.

  • Resolves problems and complaints regarding divisional services or activities.

  • Represents the division(s) at department meetings as well as at interdepartmental meetings.

  • Submits payroll information for division(s).

  • Insures that all necessary supplies are ordered and stocked.

  • Insures that safety regulations, and radiation protection where appropriate, are observed and that policies adhered to.

  • Insures compliance with all regulatory agency standards.

  • Demonstrates leadership in "Each Patient First" behaviors.

  • Maintains quality control and prescribed standards of technological aspects of the Radiologic procedures performed in the division(s).

  • Maintains policies and procedures for the division(s).

  • Maintains the patient schedules and adjusts them as appropriate for better service

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Requires high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent

  • Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

  • Requires at least three years of experience as a Technologist

  • Must maintain the required hours of continued education

  • Must maintain Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health related field is preferred

  • Two years of supervisory experience is preferred

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
