PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As the Supervisor, Receivables Management, you will provide daily oversight and coaching for the team of Analysts, Receivables Management, utilizing the Collection Escalation Process to ensure timely collection of all amounts due under customer contracts and tariffs. In addition, you will maintain a portfolio of Receivable balances, issuing collection letters and initiating phone calls, while at the same time addressing customer disputes, concerns and inquiries at root cause. You will also be required to provide reporting, metrics and information to the Manager Receivables Management as required.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Day to day support and oversight of the Analysts, Receivables Management team including but not limited to, coordinating vacation scheduling, ensuring adequate phone and group mailbox coverage, ensuring adherence to the Collections Escalation Process, ensuring timely updating of account statuses, ensuring adherence to daily targets and departmental objectives, executing proficiency testing, ensuring development course completion, etc
Act as a first point of contact for issues encountered by the Analysts team
On an assigned portfolio, ensure timely monitoring and collecting of past due receivables; maintaining confidentiality while protecting CPKC's financial position
Investigates, validates and resolves account discrepancies/disputes, by working with both CPKC's internal & external customers
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Strategically manages multiple escalated accounts in addition to a non-escalated portfolio
Drills down to the root cause to resolve complex issues; ensuring a go-forward process is in place
Builds business cases to support account resolution
Drives process improvements by proactively identifying issues and implementing solutions
Provides subject matter expertise and support functions to other departments or projects, and performs other duties as may be assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Business Administration
Three years' experience in a collections or related role
Railroad or transportation experience preferred
Supervisory experience considered an asset
Proven history of driving results in AR reduction
High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
SAP system (ECC & S4) knowledge is an asset
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team - leading by example
Ability to demonstrate situational awareness

Management Conductor Program:
