As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. The RRT Supervisor is responsible for assuring protocols and best practice is followed by all members of the team. The supervisor coordinates the training all new employees, completes payroll, updates active protocols with the RRT medical director, delivers reports on call volume, type of call, and other vital information to executive leaders quarterly.

Active member of the Emergency Response committee. Conducts performance reviews and annual goal setting with team members. Conducts mock-codes with team quarterly and provides performance feedback following both mock-codes and difficult patient care calls as needed. Monitors concerns raised by clinics and collaborates with the team to provide solutions; communicates with clinics, providers, and staff on any changes related to process.

Responsibilities:

Supervises Rapid Response Team to maximize productivity in support of corporate goals, while applying policies consistently and fairly. Communicates effectively with staff.

Employees understand rational behind management decisions. Holds regular staff/department meetings and is accessible to employees as needed.

  • Completes all employee performance reviews in a timely, objective manner based on accomplishment of previously agreed upon performance standards. Provides consistent performance feedback throughout the year and ratings, pay and merit increases are within guidelines and documented

  • Optimally staffs area based on production/revenue levels, with quality candidates.

  • Implements corporate policies. Attains established goals and minimizes the number and severity of complaints.

  • Manages budget so that expenses remain within budget while accomplishing all major objectives.

  • Ensures Department goals are meet and minimizes voluntary turnover.

  • Manages change effectively while building positive relationships with staff and peers.

Provides direct patient care in response to calls and in accordance with position description of RRT Paramedic. Responds to pages for patient assistance, IV starts, assessments, and direct patient care.

Ensures processes to keep RRT bags and equipment stocked and operational are met. Ensures code carts are checked on a daily basis when the clinics are open.

Plans and leads the monthly team meetings or delegates the running of the meeting to a paramedic on the team. Plans quarterly skill reviews and education.

Monitors licensing of team members and occupational health requirement compliance. Trains new employees and completes orientation checklists. Uploads checklists to employee's workday file in PDF and saves hard-copy of same for regulatory requirements.

Assures adequate staffing of the team during operational hours. Reviews all RRT protocols annually and obtains medical director signature of approval. Writes new protocols or updates current protocols as needed and obtains medical director approval. Redistributes protocols to all members of team with any updates/changes and educates team to ensure safe clinical practice.

Provides training for clinic staff around calling RRT, providing initial basic life support, communicating with emergency department prior to patient transport, and simulates common medical calls to assist clinic staff to improve comfort and confidence. Completes payroll and communicates with other leaders about RRT hours for RNs to ensure prompt payment for team members.

Requirements:

Current License as EMT-P in State of Minnesota.

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Minimum 7 years ambulance service experience.

Flight paramedic or inter-facility critical care transport experience preferred

Microsoft Office, Visio, and Report building/graphing/charts required.

Education/Training background preferred

Position Overview The University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center (CSC) patient concierge team ensures that patients, their families and guests have an unparalled excellent experience at the CSC. Serving as the face of the CSC and as a fount of information, they are responsible for proactively setting the stage for the patient experience, by professionally and efficiently providing and/or coordinating guest reception, reviewing and verifying pre-appointment registration information. This team is responsible for serving as the primary resource person(s) in identifying and resolving patient needs within the University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center (CSC). Key Responsibilities Include: * Works collaboratively with staff members across clinic(s), departments, and the University Campus. * Ensures all patient issues are resolved effectively and efficiently, leading to an outstanding patient experience. * Introduce and train patients and guests to use CSC technology and resources. * Monitors multiple competing situations needing attention and quickly prioritizes responses to assure patient/guest needs are met, while maintaining a pleasant, reassuring demeanor. * Communicates effectively with all members of the care team and patient financial services staff, as well as hospital departments to coordinate or facilitate the patient receiving services across settings, including arranging transportation as necessary. * Utilizes extraordinary customer service skills and promotes the UMN Health philosophy of patient centered care by going the extra mile to meet the logistical needs of our customers. * Rotates throughout facility as needed for optimum coverage and as needed. * Has full responsibility for all patient check-in, interpreter needs, visit wait coordination and monitoring, tablet questionnaire assistance, education for patients on all building technology, co-pay collection, and patient privacy protection during check-in. Minimum Qualifications: * Some post-secondary education or multi-culturally competent. Knowledgeable about the company, M Health, campus, local businesses, local venues and special events. * Demonstrated successful office/reception, retail service, and concierge or customer service experience. Good medical terminology and experience with complex medical scheduling. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. Technology literate. Ability to learn new systems and workflow processes. Ability to multi-task on an ongoing basis. Good organization and prioritization skills. Proven ability to utilize and teach others to use mobile technology. Accurate recordkeeping skills. * Demonstrates interpersonal values of compassion, respect, teamwork and diversity.
