The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position will serve as the lead traffic engineer for District 2 and as the supervisor for the traffic office. The successful candidate will need to organize and prioritize the traffic office workload and provide training and guidance for the staff engineers.
The traffic office is responsible for the review of traffic control plans for permits and contracts, reviews for traffic impact studies, develop and administer district contracts, review of NDOT plans and specifications, review public requests. The traffic office will also perform speed studies, traffic counts, sight distance studies, work with local events to develop traffic operation plans.
