General Description:

The Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee production personnel in the continuous operation of production floor functions. Assists in maintaining focus on overall company goals, safety, continuous process improvements, good labor relations, and outstanding quality and production efficiencies.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provides a safe work environment and ensures all Production personnel understand and adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Safety, Processes/Procedures.

  • Performs periodic inspections to ensure the quality of all production meets standard.

  • Ensures line set-up and line clearance are complete and in compliance with cGMP's

  • Works with other departments in coordinating production schedules and related activities.

  • Interacts with other departments to achieve production schedule.

  • Develops, implements, documents, and constantly improves operating procedures, performance objectives, and key initiatives.

  • Observes and monitors individual performance, provide on-going performance feedback, identifies, and supports training/development opportunities to improve and/or correct performance.

  • Assigns work to team members based on production schedule and volume.

  • Provides input and status for quality, production and/or safety decisions.

  • Monitors work schedule for area of responsibility to make sure materials are ordered in advance for efficient operation of area.

  • Perform administrative duties as needed, including reports, measuring efficiency, up time, downtime, data entry, develops, and implements work schedules for team and correct errors and/or omissions.

  • Reviews shift operation and implements actions relative to changes on shifts that may impact processing, procedures, personnel, equipment, and customer requirements.

  • Ensures that all people in the work group are adequately trained and are knowledgeable of department procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned by the Production Manager/Management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling.

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of 1 years' experience in process manufacturing, preferably in cosmetic process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.

  • Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance with, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

  • Good time-management skills

  • Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.

  • Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Advanced PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.

  • Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfy job requirements.

  • Ability to multi-task and follow through on project assignments.

  • Ability to quickly remedy procedural problems.

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Makes suggestions for improvements.

  • Communicates and collaborates with management.

Work Environment:

  • Process manufacturing.

  • Walking around equipment & machinery

  • Moderate to heavy traffic including forklifts.

  • Moderate noise from forklifts and machinery.
