Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising the planning of production processes in support of the Master Schedule and finished good forecast. Additionally, this position oversees the planning and execution of inventory for future periods of supply to achieve sales forecast, customer service, and inventory goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and oversee execution of new department SOP's and update when necessary by using knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

  • Manages and directs production schedules for manufacturing in relation to the Master Schedule and finished good forecasts.

  • Oversees the planning and expediting of inventory through distribution centers.

  • Establishes sequence and lead time of operations to meet requirement due dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.

  • Supervise planners, front office clerks, and production execution.

  • Coordinate and monitors products through the complete production cycle from issuance of shop orders to delivery of final requirement.

  • Collaborate as key player to oversee readiness plans to support new product launches in domestic and international markets.

  • Expedite and facilitate production orders through production as needed through monitoring and identifying production delays and work with production staff to implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate to committing planning dates to domestic distributor, international, and key accounts.

  • Research and resolve material issue variances.

  • Collaborate and support international account orders by coordinating with the International Planner.

  • Maintain a product aging report as part of inventory control.

  • Complete special assignments for Senior Director of Planning.

Qualifications and Guidelines:

Experience/Training/Education:

  • High School education.

  • 1- 2 years college and/or 3-5 years equivalent experience in manufacturing and production scheduling

  • ERP

  • Planning Tools

  • Office Software MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and WebEx

  • Active APICS and or ISM Member

  • Continuing education and testing to APICS and or ISM standards

Knowledge Of:

  • General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes

  • General knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Supply chain management and supplier partnering techniques

  • Quality requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Able to work independently

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers at all levels
