About the role
We are looking for a Primary Process Supervisor to manage Primary Process plant operators to ensure safety, quality and productivity. Recognized as a leader in the industrial minerals industry due to product quality, supply reliability and technical support; we are proud to make modern life work. From our location in Boron, California we supply refined borates which are key ingredients in fiberglass, glass, ceramics and many other products.
This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the success of the Primary Process plant one of Rio Tinto Borates main products. Working 4 days on 3 days off, 3 days on 4 days biweekly roster. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be:
Responsible for direct supervision of operating employees and deployment of equipment to meet production and safety requirements in own area of responsibility
Coordinating and supervising the daily activities of production
Setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with the other supervisors and areas
Solving problems based on practice and precedent. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan
Facilitating the Lean/management system activities within team or area
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Valid state Driver's License
Prior leadership experience
Experience working in a chemical processing facility
