The Pre-Blend Powder Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the work of the manufacturing operators in Weigh/staging, and Slant Cone Blending. They will have two leads, one for each department reporting to them. They will work closely with the Blend Powder Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure overall blending expectations for the facility are achieved or exceeded. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that work is scheduled and performed in a safety and quality conscious environment, while maintaining productivity expectations. This position will monitor staffing requirements and advise Manager of changing needs. The Supervisor will be responsible for meeting or exceeding all scheduled expectations for his/her departments, along with complete adherence to company and regulatory procedures and requirements.


  • Plan, supervise and direct manufacturing personnel to achieve short and long term departmental objectives

  • Must have a thorough understanding of Dept SOPs and ability to train and impart that knowledge to operators.

  • Ensure staff is properly trained on applicable SOPs and competent in all technical aspects of their positions

  • Problem solves / troubleshoots production issues and recommends solutions.

  • Implements changes to maximize production yields and efficiencies

  • Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment

  • Will be responsible for maintaining PRD inventory at 96% or above.

  • Maintains daily correspondence with the Sanitation department for scheduled cleaning needs.

  • Establish staffing guidelines and distribute workload so as to deliver maximum results

  • Maintain two way dialog with direct reports on work and results

  • Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives assuring that these are clearly understood by the shift

  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) documents

  • Work with Maintenance, Quality Control and other departments as needed in order to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and cGMP Standards

  • Administer company policies regarding attendance, conduct, performance, quality, safety and teamwork

  • Interacts daily with Quality and Planning to assure production schedules are met or exceeded.

  • Works closely with Process Engineering to improve line efficiencies and speed up processing time.

  • Responsible for personnel development. Instruct, train, motivate and assist employees so that company and departmental objectives are achieved

  • Accountable for department results

  • A minimum of four years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • A minimum of two years of work experience in an FDA/GMP regulated production operation.



  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Two year technical degree from accredited institution or equivalent experience

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Clean and maintain processing rooms, production areas and equipment. * Ensure all product and components required for daily production are in the appropriate staging area. in a timely manner to ensure availability before production begins. * Ensure any remaining product/components are returned back to inventory once a project is completed. * Perform quality checks on labels and codes. If defects are found notify lead/supervisor immediately. Change labels as needed. * Inspect finished product continually throughout process to identify defects. * Package finished product and full goods in boxes in a timely manner. * Perform various packaging duties. * Follow established department GMP's, SOP's and batch record instructions. * Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations. * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: * Ability to manually handle packaging product in a quickly and timely manner. * Ability to apply basic math skills required to control inventory. * Good communication skills both written and verbal. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Comply with all company policies and procedures. * Comply with all safety rules and regulations. * Ability to understand, speak, read and write in the English language. * Basic computer skills. Experience: * Up to 1 year experience in a fast paced packaging environment. * Experience working/participating in a team based environment. Education: * High school diploma or GED PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Food and Drug Administration (FDA) other regulatory. * Experience using high Speed Mixer, Dryers, Fitz mill, Sweco, scales and tablet presses. * Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPS).
