Job Summary

Supervises and directs employees engaged in activities related to maintenance, operations, and measurement of gathering and/or pipeline system.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and/or assist employees performing pipeline operations, measurement, and maintenance activities on gathering and/or pipeline system including compressor stations, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment.

  • Coordinate system improvements and modifications and other special projects.

  • Compile, prepare, and/or analyze various reports and documents including but not limited to:

  • O&M capital budgets

  • Measurement documentation

  • Balance reports

  • AFE's

  • Construction drawings and maps

  • Determine materials required for operations and prepare appropriate purchase requisitions.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements, preparing appropriate documentation.

  • Provide information and/or assistance to management and employees regarding daily work activities, scheduling, operational changes, etc.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and related equipment.

  • Working knowledge of use and function of computers and applicable spreadsheet and word processing software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Application of basic math and algebraic formulas.

  • Working knowledge of and/or training related to:

  • Transmission and/or gathering system operations

  • Company/governmental operating, environmental, and safety procedures

  • Emergency response procedures

  • Communications skills

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor pipeline activities and situations to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact, advice, and communicate effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, direct, and/or supervise; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to compile and prepare reports, recommendations, and correspondence.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret manuals, policies, procedures, permits, governmental regulations, construction specifications and drawings, reports, and correspondence.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Certification and Licensing

  • Applicable driver's license for travel to other locations.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.

  • Ability to operate tools and equipment required.

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds in routine completion of job responsibilities.

Visual Requirements

  • Sufficient to perform job duties.

  • Ability to differentiate between colors.

Targa is currently seeking Plant Operations Technicians at their facility located in Coyanosa, Texas. Job Responsibilities: * Operation job duties include reviewing and monitoring plant operation/processes for optimizing quality and production of products meeting required data specifications. * Maintain safe work procedures in a team environment and have good trouble shooting skills on mechanical equipment (natural gas internal combustion engines, natural gas compressors, electrical and pneumatic controls, pump, and control equipment). * Perform PSM functions and activities. * Attend safety meetings and report safety related concerns as required. * Perform routine shutdowns and startups of equipment, and perform emergency procedures when required. * Participate in training co-workers in safe and proper job procedures. * Install equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves and perform general maintenance. * Maintain good communication with co-workers and management including but not limited to plant operations, maintenance, project, and safety updates. * Assist as relief operator, plant maintenance, and in lab as needed. * Minimum Requirements: * Minimum of 2 year's of related work experience. * Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent * Possess and maintain a valid driver's license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company. * Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors. * Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision * Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software * Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions. * Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs. * Ability to work in changing climate conditions. * Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing. * Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex). * Regular and Reliable Attendance Preferred Requirements: * 3+ years' experience in maintenance of natural gas engines and compressors. * 3+ years process knowledge of cryogenic plants operation. * Good PC computer skills. * Basic knowledge of PLC's. * Process Safety Management knowledge.
