Supervisor - Physical Therapy Clinic

Position Description:

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday

Work Location: Sports, Exercise Medicine Clinic, Dunnavant Valley

Manage the workflow and provide team leadership within assigned area of responsibility. To serve as a resource for therapists, resolves more complex patient care issues.

Provides direct patient care in an outpatient setting. Directs, modifies and administers the physical therapy modalities of treatment. Administers treatments and physical agents.

Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Documents pertinent information; communicates with staff, physicians, case managers, patients and families; participates in educational activities; and supports departmental operations.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association's Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Physical Therapist required.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required: Current State of Alabama license as Physical Therapist; Current BLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to make evaluations or decisions based on appropriate judgmental criteria; perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency or composure; deal effectively with individuals who are angry or upset; and work efficiently.
