As a member of the high performing Revenue Cycle Team this role may be one of the last critical interactions with patients of ProHealth Care. We are looking for team members who are comfortable taking the initiative to provide a world class customer service experience to our patients.

Our patient accounting department is a dynamic work environment where professionals are given the opportunity and tools to use initiative and problem solving skills to resolve medical bills as quickly as possible. The Supervisor, Patient Accounting & Billing must possess a strong work ethic and must take the initiative to adapt their approach to assist their team appropriately based on each individual's needs. This includes the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner. The Supervisor operates by:

  • Efficiently planning and coordinating various activities and daily workflows associated with Hospital and Professional Insurance Billing and Follow-up.

  • Proactively managing vendor relationships.

  • Applying advanced knowledge of professional and hospital insurance billing.

  • Directly managing staff in a manner that supports a professional, quality and efficient work environment.

  • Using analytical abilities to effectively identify and resolve simple and complex problems.

  • Collaborating in a team environment and uses effective communication skills to develop and encourage others to work harder and achieve goals.


  • Associate's Degree or higher required. Will consider equivalent experience and education in lieu of a degree.

  • At least 4 years, with 6 or more preferred, of related experience in medical billing and/or insurance follow up - this must include both physician and hospital billing.

  • At least 2 years, with 4 or more preferred, of leadership experience.

  • Proficiency with computerized patient accounting systems.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the health care industry, insurance terminology, and medical billing and follow up for hospital and professional claims.

  • Understanding of payer and federal regulations preferred.

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to diplomatically work with a variety of customers and actively listen to successfully determine the customer's needs.

  • Ability to successfully analyze and independently resolve simple and complex issues.

  • Successful at identifying repetitive and complex issues that need to be escalated for consideration.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members while recognizing and acknowledging team accomplishments and exceptional performance.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a variety of tasks.

The Accounting Manager provides support for financial functions including general ledger accounting, shared services, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and various external audits. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the organization's fiscal records and preparation of its internal financial reports. Responsibilities Essential Duties * Assists in directing the organization's overall financial policies. Responsible for a wide variety of general ledger accounting and statistical data and reports financial statements such as balance sheet, profit-and-loss statement, cash flow and related supplementary reporting schedules/charts. * Assists with coordinating and executing an adequate plan for the control of operations. Such a plan provides accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost saving opportunities, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan. * Works closely across other departments and internally with the accounting group in providing financial services support. Develops strong working relationships across the company in order to better understand business needs and to provide superior accounting services and support. May participate and, at times, will lead cross-functional teams within and outside of the finance department. * Provides reports and interprets the results of operation to the highest levels of management. Researches special assignments and provides meaningful analysis and recommendations to upper management. Assists with the formulation of accounting policies. Responsible for the preparation of internal financial statements and operating data, coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required. * Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance. * Assists with various external audits as defined by the Controller. Ensures staff are providing requested items properly and on a timely basis. * Establishes and implements a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan. * Spots and corrects irregularities and inconsistencies in financial information. Ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. * Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Plans, leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. * Assists in the management of all financial functions including general ledger accounting, shared services, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and various outside audits. * Designs and directs the work of the team. Selects, coaches and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team.
