The Supervisor, Paid Social is the primary point person for paid social media planning and execution. This is a management position accountable for handling all aspects of the planning, implementation and tracking of media campaigns. They are primary client contacts for the paid social plan and set the strategic media approach and execution for their campaigns. The Paid Social Supervisor is also responsible for developing their paid social planning teams' skills and abilities and to evaluate team member performance.
Supervise Paid Social Campaign Managers and Sr. Campaign Managers, ensuring structure and support in their roles, and help contribute to their growth with AKQA
Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects
Maintain a deep understanding of client business goals and marketing objectives, helping to translate into paid social digital objectives and strategies
Maintain a deep understanding of paid social platforms, highly proficient in building, managing and optimizing campaigns and audiences within all paid social platforms
Along with the AMD, develop sound, strategic paid social media plans based on client marketing, use of media research and consumer insights working closely with integrated, inter-agency and client team
Ensure application of foundational media planning basics (i.e. reach, frequency, CPMs/CPPs, etc.)
Direct and manage the daily work flow of all paid social campaigns, including proposal development, campaign activation & maintenance, and post-campaign reporting
Identify and/or surface process enhancements and changes where necessary to ensure the most efficient workflow
Build strong relationships within the media community in order to bring Clients innovative and first-to-market opportunities
Build and maintain strong Client relationships; managing day-to-day workflow and providing client updates and status report as necessary
Play an active role in meetings, helping to bring new ideas, and carry out the smart ideas of others
Identify test and learn opportunities
Accountable for partner budget management and oversight of accurate reconciliation
Collaborate with internal counterparts to ensure integration across media, analytics, search and the AKQA trading desk
Work closely with analytics on paid social metrics evaluation, optimization recommendations and align reporting story with media strategy
Skills and Experience
Successful experience in paid social media planning, buying and reporting across the major social platforms' ads managers
4-7 years of paid social media experience with a minimum of 1 year managing and mentoring junior planners
Experience across other digital channels (programmatic, publisher etc.)
Accomplished and fair negotiator, with strong working relationships within the media sales community
Excellent communication & client management skills
Strong analytical skill set and ability to translate data to media performance
Proficient with research tools such as: MRI & com
Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Knowledge of paid social ad products, specs and nuances
