What You Will Do:

Supervisor of the Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing at Valley Health Surgery Center is a Certified Scrub Technician who is responsible for timely coordination of supplies and instrumentation, to include sales representative availability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing guidance, expertise in sterile technique and scrub roles, while utilizing available resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Oversees and provides support to the operating rooms and sterile processing. The role is expected to consist of 80% clinical support and 20% administrative tasks. The Supervisor will engage the surgeons in dialogue regarding the schedule of the cases for the day, supplies and instrumentation. They will oversee frontline direct reports, assist with evaluations for those direct reports. The Supervisor is expected to role-model professional leadership behaviors that serve to lead the team by example. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course required.

Experience

Three plus years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician and/or Sterile Processing Technician required

Certification & Licensures

BLS certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare required Provider (HCP) - AHA ap required*

Surgical Technician State Board certification required

CBSPD certification required within 24 months of hire

  • New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
