For the Voith Hydro, Field Operations 5 department, we are looking for:

Supervisor of Tool Room, Field Machine

York, PA

Summary Person in this position must be capable of manual labor, must understand, develop and maintain a database of all Field Operations major equipment & tooling. Should know or quickly learn the name, brand and models of tooling used for Field Operations (both Turbine, Generator Installation, field machining, welding and Commissioning disciplines) work. Must be prepared to work late hours and weekend overtime when required to support our field functions. Must qualify to operate forklifts and cranes safely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize and maintain (safe and clean environment) the designated Voith Hydro (USA) tool facilities (York, PA.)

  • Base Tool Sets and Trailers shall be developed and maintained in a standard format. All trailers will be blasted and painted identical color scheme.

  • Provide tools and materials to site managers as requested.

  • Prepare tool sets, purchase consumables, calibrate (send to local vendor), repair tooling (internal or send to local vendor), load and off load tooling and equipment to MOB and DEMOB jobsites.

  • Communicate transportation needs with Logistics Manager and Site Managers.

  • Continually improve the field tooling and sets with safer equipment, better technology, etc.

  • Maintain Catalog/Operation and Maintenance Manual Information on Pre Engineered tooling (supplied by vendor)

  • Tool Assistants, Site Managers, Logistics Manager, Shop Employees(Material Handlers), Project Planning Coordinator

  • Repair and maintain field machining and welding equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Journeyman papers are a definite plus!

  • Must be able to properly wear and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); including (but not limited to) Safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, safety boots/shoes, fall protection devices, life jackets, etc.

  • Must be able to properly lift 40 Lbs and carry it 10 feet.

  • Must be able to enter/exit through small entries (Entry ways that are 20 inches in diameter or larger.)

  • Must be able to climb ladders, steps, etc. on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to evacuate a shop/powerhouse on foot via step

  • Any previous experience as a field supervisor on Hydro Turbine/Generator Project is a plus but not necessary.

  • Warehouse/ Tooling Management

  • Manufacturing or construction background.

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Understand working in a union environment

  • Computer literate / Knowledge of Computer programs (Excel, Word, Access, Tool Watch) helpful.

  • Prepare, organize, and inventory tooling conexes to send to job sites.

  • Keep tool warehouse (s) inventoried and organized.

They are responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. They are also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices. * Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies * Operate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocating or shuttle machines) to ensure production of quality bottles and perform audits, weights and quality checks * Adhere to quality control and to blow mold process procedure * Troubleshoot and perform minor repair on blow-mold and support equipment * Make adjustments to meet product specifications * Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines * Assist with preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin and other mechanical changes * Grind excess bottle and material * Troubleshoot and resolve process problems * Prepare maintenance request forms and document equipment repairs * Train blow-mold employees * Prepare & document daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and other * Other duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are minimum requirements for the job.
