Supervisor Of Speech/Language And Related Services (2024-2025 School Year)

Position Title: Supervisor, Speech/Language & Related Services Division: F&SSS/Special Services and Educational Support Reports To: Coordinator, Related Services FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Schedule: C3 (Doctorate), C3-1 (Specialist), C3-2 (Master's/Bachelor's) Work Days: 244 Evaluation Tool: HCSAPE JD Revision Date(s): 9/22

Essential Duties:

• Coordinate, support, and monitor the duties and responsibilities of all assigned staff members.

• Organize and lead professional development opportunities for all assigned areas of supervision.

• Review pertinent data in order to prepare and submit reports as required by the school district.

• Conduct interviews and make staffing recommendations for vacant positions as needed.

• Supervise and evaluate all assigned staff.

• Monitor student needs and determine staffing recommendations based on district and state guidelines.

• Respond to parent concerns and needs in a timely and appropriate manner.

• Collaborate with building-level leadership to maintain or coordinate support for students and staff.

• Establish relationships with contract agencies and universities to aid in recruitment.

• Serve as the central point of contact for all contract agencies related to Speech/Language and related services.

• Support assigned staff in maintaining compliance with local school district, state, and federal regulations and

• Board of Education policies.

• Collaborate with other ESE leadership members to support the ESE Department procedures and programs.

• Coordinate MTSS meetings, 504 meetings, special education eligibility meetings, and IEP meetings as needed.

• Supervise Medicaid compliance of SLPs, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Hold or be eligible for certification in Educational Leadership, preferred.

• Must have at least five years of successful therapy practice.

• Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.

• Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.

• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.

• Ability to be present at the physical worksite.

• Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.

• Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.

• Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
