SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Receives general direction from a higher ranking official.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervises lower level employees as assigned.

Schedule: 40 hrs per wk, Mon

  • Fri, 8:00am

  • 4:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid meal break

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Schedules, assigns, oversee and reviews the work of staff

  • Provides staff training and assistance

  • Conducts performance evaluations

  • Determines priorities and plans unit work

  • Establishes and maintains unit procedures

  • Develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and standards

  • Participates in unit budget development

  • Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures

  • Prepares reports and correspondence

  • Participates in negotiations with third party carriers for optimal reimbursement

  • Manages physician files

  • Reviews/approves all write-offs and notarizing of documents

  • Responds to complex patient account problems

  • Monitors special/courtesy accounts for accuracy

  • Assures effective review of third party payments

  • Maintains monthly A/R reports, cash reports, billing statistics

  • Reviews discharge edit for delinquent data

  • Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Considerable knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures

  • Considerable knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws, statutes and regulations

  • Knowledge of patient accounting, professional fee billing systems and health care administration

  • Considerable interpersonal skills

  • Considerable oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow

  • Supervisory ability.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

General Experience:

Six (6) years experience in a health care, patient services, patient accounts environment.

Substitutions Allowed:

Bachelors Degree and two (2) years of experience in a health care, patient services, patient accounts environment

Full Time Equivalent Minimum Salary: $70,512.00
