EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Schedules, assigns, oversee and reviews the work of staff
Provides staff training and assistance
Conducts performance evaluations
Determines priorities and plans unit work
Establishes and maintains unit procedures
Develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and standards
Participates in unit budget development
Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures
Prepares reports and correspondence
Participates in negotiations with third party carriers for optimal reimbursement
Manages physician files
Reviews/approves all write-offs and notarizing of documents
Responds to complex patient account problems
Monitors special/courtesy accounts for accuracy
Assures effective review of third party payments
Maintains monthly A/R reports, cash reports, billing statistics
Reviews discharge edit for delinquent data
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Considerable knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures
Considerable knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws, statutes and regulations
Knowledge of patient accounting, professional fee billing systems and health care administration
Considerable interpersonal skills
Considerable oral and written communication skills
Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Six (6) years experience in a health care, patient services, patient accounts environment.
Bachelors Degree and two (2) years of experience in a health care, patient services, patient accounts environment
Full Time Equivalent Minimum Salary: $70,512.00
