Job Description:

As the Supervisor of Navigation Services you will supervise and coordinate the staff and daily operations of (transport) navigation services including, but not limited to escorting/transporting patients; picking-up and delivering material and equipment; and performing related clerical/recording duties.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff. Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.

  • Participates in implementation and adherence operational and service goals and objectives.

  • Prepares and communicates special reports pertaining to operations, productivity, volumes, operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.

  • Implements and maintains service agreements between department and customers.

  • Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational and service performance.

  • Maintains, uses and monitors the patient transport tracking system and advance technology for optimal transport service efficiency. Performs related operation and system evaluation and end-user training.

  • Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.

  • Ensures maintenance and inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Initiates repair requests on transport equipment.

  • Participates in evaluating and implementing approved operational and service Quality Control/Performance Improvement related practices. Provides related operational training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Knowledge of Business Operations as typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Operations or related field, preferred.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or equivalent, required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years related healthcare operations management experience including coordination and leadership, required.

  • Current knowledge of appropriate patient transfer/transport techniques, and related body mechanics.

  • Knowledge of basic related Safety and Infection Control policies and practices.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
