Distribution Center Supervisor

The Southeast Division, located in Athens, Ga., is seeking qualified candidiates to fill our Distribution Center Supervisor position. This posiiton reports direclty to the Distribution Center Manager and is resposnible for ensuring the building facilities are properly maintained to best practice standards and company policy.

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for ensuring equipment, conveyors, building requirements, ammonia system and support systems are maintained at the highest efficiency level possible. Responsible for sueprvising hourly temamates that perform these maintenance fuctions on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

A supervisor in this position must have the ability to:

Strong attention to detail with documenting ammonia checks and maintaining detailed daily dairies.

Manage budgets for building and repair, maintenance, supplies, third-party support and spare parts inventory.

Maintain adequate on-hand inventory supplies to support sortation system. Monitor expenses and purchase actions.

Obtain quotes to build strong vendor relationships. Ensure the best cost is being provided.

Utilize maintenance connection to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.

Identify, prioritize, and coordinate the daily activities of technicians.

Manage the department to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, safety and task proficiency.

Maintain proper staffing, required training and certifications.

Work nights and weekends if critical system failures occur.

Ensure the training and development of the team on all technical aspects of DC maintenance including conveyor, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration and building support systems.

Monitor expenses by function and equipment type.

Provide "hands on repairs" and preventative maintenance to DC systems as required.

Monitor and maintain safety processes to keep the division in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Effectively communicate both written and orally with supervisor, peers and subordinates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must:

Have 3 or more years of performing maintenance functions in a high speed production facility.

Have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, including assertiveness, organization, enthusiasm, decisiveness, planning, confidence and accountability.

Have demonstrated proficient verbal and written skills.

Have strong technical working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, ammonia, energy management, MHE and conveyor systems.

The Maintenance Facilitator leads a team of technicians and mechanics that will ensure that the manufacturing equipment is in its best state of repair for the manufacturing processes in Cornelia, Georgia. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will develop and execute maintenance strategies to achieve this while constantly pursuing improvements for our business throughout the betterment of maintenance practices. This, while maintaining efficient cost control and delivering outstanding product quality. The Maintenance Facilitator handles all aspects of major facilities and maintenance engineering projects utilizing state of the art technology, systems, and process excellence tools. Key Responsibilities: * Key support in ensuring proper maintenance of manufacturing and facilities equipment. Participates and supports Value Stream and Integrated Production teams for manufacturing line(s) to ensure the daily manufacturing schedule is met in a safe, compliant, and cost-efficient manner. * Leads all hiring, training, planning, assigning, development and performance management of direct reports. * Leading maintenance team to ensure products are produced in compliance with cGMP, ISO and other Regulatory requirements. * Participates in developing, monitoring and effectively utilizing dashboards, control charts, and operational/maintenance indicators. Takes action and leads teams to address and ensure expected customer service levels are met, while managing budget to meet financial projections. * Ensures proper department staffing and provides development and leadership to all resources within team. * Supports technical activities to ensure continuous process improvement and development of both product and process; as well as new product introductions. * Drive improvement of cross training and flexibility models for all maintenance associates. Lead them in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. * Lead the prioritization of projects with associated resources, including project planning, scheduling and driving project meetings and budget to achieve the overall objectives of the program in a timely manner. * Identify, research, and order specialty equipment, parts, and supplies required to maintain plant operations. * Closely collaborate with other Maintenance/Facilities functions such as spare parts coordinator, maintenance engineers, facilitators and technicians to assure all elements are covered and major work order is executed aligned with safety, quality, efficiency and operational expectations. * Participate on multi-disciplinary project teams to identify functional process equipment requirements for new or existing systems. * Communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level. * Ensuring all associates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in optimum condition. * Interprets administrative policies for associates, reviews associates performance and makes decisions regarding personnel actions. * Establish and promote a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all employees regardless of race, gender, or other differences. * Based on business needs, flexible to work other shifts as required. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science is required. Master's degree desirable. * A minimum of 6 years of related work experience is required. * A minimum of 3 year of proven people leadership experience is required. * At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FDA regulated environment is preferred. * Experience performing design, development and installation of equipment, automation transfer systems and processes to bring innovative solutions to equipment preferred. * Ability to balance priorities of self and team required. * Experience in managing Preventative Maintenance and Calibration programs preferred. * Basic knowledge of industrial controls, including PLC's and PC based operator interfaces required. * Technical knowledge and or experience in electrical, mechanical and control systems to be able to advise resources for the investigation, diagnosis and repair of equipment required. * Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills. * Six Sigma or Lean Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent.
