Description

The Supervisor, LCGP Engineering, reports to the Plant Superintendent and provides direct supervision to facility's engineers and interfaces across upstream operations to enhance knowledge leveraging through participation on technical networks and project reviews. This position also provides leadership to the QA/QC function to ensure mechanical integrity.

This role provides technical expertise and project engineering leadership focused on improving the safety and reliability of the Lost Cabin Gas Plant (LCGP), located in Lysite, WY. The Facility consists of 2 processing trains which process sour gas to produce natural gas (methane), carbon dioxide and elemental sulfur. The position is a rotational assignment with rotational schedule to be agreed with back to back but not less than 2 weeks.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Provides direct supervision over unit operations crafting and troubleshooting including but not limited to heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, separation, piping design and stress calculations

  • Performs oversight on project management including feasibility, reliability, constructability and assurance analysis

  • Reviews and approves AFE's, project scope, bid proposals and evaluations

  • Analyzes project cost estimations and economic evaluations

  • Develop and maintain the long-range production forecast model, setting targets, and reviewing losses.

  • Develop and manage the capital expense budget outlooks and long-range plans.

  • Reinforces safety culture and programs

  • Supports environmental permitting and compliance

  • Advises on equipment and service specification

  • Evaluates equipment performance

  • Provides direct supervision to the QA/QC function

  • Accountable for evaluating inspection data to ensure the mechanical integrity of process equipment and pipelines

  • Evaluates fixed equipment and ensures compliance with COP procedures and industry standards

  • Leads corrective actions from audits, defect elimination and inspection findings

  • Champions and provides mentorship for the PSM process with a strong emphasis on Management of Change and Process Hazard Analysis

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee or asylee

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, other related technical discipline or foreign equivalent

  • 7+ years of direct experience in project and/or facilities engineering

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of direct supervisory/leadership experience

  • 1+ year direct experience working in sour gas operations

  • Proficient in facilities design, industry codes and standards, project management, Front End Loading and hazards analysis

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management and environmental permitting

  • Strong interpersonal skills to allow establishing and maintaining credibility and trust with operations and a variety of internal and external partners and customers

  • Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership

  • Clearly demonstrated technical competence specifically in the areas of gas processing, separation and pipeline operations

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to lead and develop others

  • Experience in managing maintenance and upgrade projects

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and critical tasks in managing multiple activities

  • Strong results orientation is required to ensure improvements are realized across all assets

  • Be willing to commute long distances and work at a remote location

  • Generates effective solution as based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
