As the supervisor you will lead a team of environmental professionals responsible for environmental permitting and approvals for electric and gas projects in CT. Support team with developing permitting strategies, schedules, budget, and compliance. Represent the Env L&P team at various management and regulator meetings.
Support the team to plan, execute, and obtain necessary approvals for projects in accordance with strict deadlines and within budget, including obtaining resources and coordinating efforts of team members to deliver approvals needed according to plan.
Ensure consistent documentation and compliance with environmental requirements of permits/licenses.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Essential Functions
Conceptualize and execute plans, lead cross-functional teams, interact with regulatory agencies, manage budgets.
Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations.
Forge relationships with regulators and key stakeholders, while balancing the needs of the company.
Build strong collaborative working relationship with utility operations leadership.
Effectively communicate project risks and compliance concerns.
Manage contracts, including specifications and bid documents, RFP coordination, and managing environmental consultants and vendors.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Strong working knowledge of the permitting process of a wide range of regulatory agencies such as: USACE, CTDEEP and NHPA Section 106, and local environmental rules required.
Knowledge of transmission/distribution line engineering, substation engineering, transmission/distribution line construction, substation construction or transmission system planning is strongly preferred.
