High school diploma or GED, two years of relevant experience, and at least one year of previous supervisory experience. Requires valid driver license and to maintain it.

Special Conditions

Department is especially interested in candidates with category 3 pesticide certification and proficient computer skills.

Will include some weekends

Must be able to work after normal hours to respond to emergency situations when necessary.

This position is considered to be an emergency critical employee.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 250 pounds with appropriate tools or moving equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, chemicals, fumes and airborne particles, outdoor spaces and is required to climb ladders to access equipment in high and/or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of operating and maintaining landscape equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems.

• Knowledge of planting techniques, soil composition, irrigation methods, and pest control.

• Ability to lead and motivate a team of landscapers, assign tasks effectively, and ensure work is completed on schedule.

• Capability to interact professionally with clients, address their concerns, and maintain positive relationships.

• Ability to resolve conflicts or disputes among team members and address client concerns in a diplomatic and constructive manner.
